Your Love for One Another is Increasing
July 31, 2008

"Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers, as is right, because your faith is growing abundantly, and the love of every one of you for one another is increasing. Therefore we ourselves boast about you in the churches of God for your steadfastness and faith in all your persecutions and in the afflictions that you are enduring."
                                                                                                                                                  II Thessalonians 1:2-4

I read this passage this morning and felt like it was a great description of Spring Run. First of all, Andrew and I are very thankful for all of you. Planting a new church is hard work and it takes a lot of people who are willing to lead and take risks. You all have done just that. We are nearing the end of our third year and we have seen God do amazing things. Our church is growing, families are reaching out and being ministered to, people are coming to follow Jesus and God is working miracles in our own hearts as we believe and trust in the Gospel. “Your faith is growing abundantly.”

If you have been around for any period of time you know that Community Groups are the heart and soul of our church. We believe this is the best way that we can encourage and care for one another. In the last three years we have watched Community Groups take care of families with sickness, car accidents, miscarriages, parenting struggles and lots of new babies. This is the gospel in action. This is what Paul means when he says that, “…the love of every one of you for one another is increasing.” There is so much pain and sickness and heartache just in our own midst that none of us can endure without the gospel and people willing to love one another with the gospel. Let us continue to believe that the gospel is our only hope in life and death. We will all continue to face difficult afflictions. But we know that we are all in this together and that God is in the middle of it as well.

Let’s continue to pray for one another, encourage one another, spur one another on towards love and good deeds, and to love one another with the infinite love of Christ. Everyday has its joys and struggles, but every day we wake up knowing that God the Father is for us, Jesus his Son has sanctified us and that his Holy Spirit lives in us to walk us through the day.

Have a Great Day Enjoying God!
