Safe and Secure

This God—his way is perfect; mountain-path-1119909_960_720
the word of the Lord proves true;
he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.

 For who is God, but the Lord?
And who is a rock, except our God?

Psalm 18:30-31

To follow God is a way that will always be best. It may not be the easiest or the safest way, but it is always the best way. “For your way is perfect…” You just can’t go wrong if you choose the path that God leads you down.

To live according to God’s Word has proven to be the best way to live. For God created life and so it only makes sense that only He truly knows how it should be lived. To turn away from God and try to live life some other way, some different way, is simply foolish and a complete waste of time. But in order to live according to God’s Word, we must know the Word, we must read, study, listen, memorize and meditate on His Word.

“He is a shield for all those who take refuge in Him.” Who doesn’t need a refuge? Who doesn’t need a safe place to go and rest from our enemies, to feel secure from things that seek to harm us? A place for refreshment when we are tired and burdened and weary. A place to be fully protected and shielded from anything that seeks to do evil against us.

Because God is God, He is greater and stronger than anything else that has ever existed or will ever exist, there is no one else or nothing else for us to run to for safety. Nothing besides God offers the absolute security, the unfailing commitment for the well-being of our souls.

God has proven all of these promises in Christ. The life, death and resurrection of Jesus proves God’s love for us. They prove His power over all things, including death, which no one else has been able to conquer.

Thank the Lord God Almighty today for this gospel of good news that reaches out and grabs a  hold of us every day.

All for Jesus,
